Pot Mariegold

In my charming allotment garden the marigolds were represented from the beginning. Before, I always had a few in the pots on my balcony, but when the garden came, they had to move in there too. With the purchase of seeds, the colors became a bit more diverse. I have about 4 different color variants in the garden, which may change in the next few years. The strong colors of the flowers make a pretty good impression in a large group.

Various insects are happy to accept them, including the neighbors' honeybees with his bee colonies. Except that I enjoy the sight and try to photograph the insects in it, I will not use them any further. Apart from the fact that I will harvest the seeds for the next year. The plant should be edible but I haven't tried it yet.

The individual plants should not be too close together. Sown early, their offspring can bloom in the bed in the same year. They then bloom well into autumn while other flowers have given up. In my garden it also grows between the vegetables. It is said that it works against nematodes and is compatible with many types of vegetables.
